Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships confirmed for March

Catch Djokovic and co. in action

Tennis aces will serve up a thrilling masterclass in March when the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships return to the emirate.

Global names such as Novak Djokovic – last year’s champion and five-time winner – are regulars at the event, and this year will be no different with a galaxy of stars set to shine here in Dubai.

Masters of the baseline will compete over two weeks from March 7 to 20, with the WTA 1000 competition taking place first, followed by the ATP 500 tournament.

The ATP draw has been increased this year to 48 players, giving fans even greater opportunity to see their favourite players in action.

The early message from organisers is that the event will welcome “some fans” to watch the action unfold live.

Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free, said: “We are delighted to once again stage one of the key sporting events on the Dubai calendar, particularly as we mark the 21st running of the WTA week and the 29th year of the ATP tournament, both of which have garnered numerous awards over the years.

“In that time, nearly every top player has at some stage in their career competed for one of the most sought-after trophies in the sport, and we look forward to welcoming many of the current stars for what is certain to be another two weeks of fierce competition.”
