Time Out and Arabian Business launch “The Hero Project” to recognise Covid-19 stars

Project to raise profiles of individuals and companies working to tackle pandemic

Time Out and Arabian Business have announced the launch of “The Hero Project”, in a bid to raise the profiles of the thousands of individuals and companies in the UAE making huge efforts to overcome the Covid-19 crisis.

The project allows members of the public to nominate any person, company or organisation in the UAE who they believe deserves recognition during the current pandemic.

Holly Sands, Editorial Director of Time Out GCC, said: “From doctors and nurses to police and essential shop workers, there has been no shortage of heroes to emerge from this crisis. This project will give the public the chance to nominate those people, and allow us, through our media platforms, to bring their incredible stories to a wider audience.’

Editor of Arabian Business, added: “If there is one positive thing to come out of this pandemic, it is the remarkable solidarity that we have seen across society. Not only the work of essential workers, but the many business leaders and companies that have put aside their commercial priorities in a bid to help in any way they can. Airlines making meals for workers, hotels offering free rooms for key staff… The list of great initiatives is endless and it is already and incredible story of hope.”

All nominations can be made directly through the simple form below. Beginning on Friday May 1, both Arabian Business and Time Out will publish on a daily basis profiles of those nominated. Each nominee that is profiled will also receive a souvenir digital cover of Arabian Business and Time Out.

Later this year, brand ambassadors for The Hero Project will be announced, who will chose the 100 most outstanding success stories from the pool of nominees – with all those chosen invited to a star-studded gala dinner celebration in their honour, that will be held once social distancing measures are fully lifted.
