It may be pretty far-flung from the centre of the emirate, but Dubai’s Hatta region is seriously happening right now.
Hot on the heels of a jaw-dropping new mountain retreat opening in the mountainous enclave, Hatta is now home to a brand-new glamping experience, in the shape of 15 domed tents.
If you’re a staunch-not-on-the-floor sleeper (hello), you might just be swayed by these snazzy setups, all neutral, earthy tones and – crucially – complete with actual mattresses. Praise be.
Each tent has its own terrace and seating, plus a barbecue and fire pit for chilling out around after a day of adventure.
Plonk yourself down on the bed and gaze up at the stars through the window panelling (yes, windows), then shut the curtains to preserve your lie-in.
Just a stone’s throw from Hatta’s action-packed Wadi Hub, where you’ll find activities ranging from mountain biking to zip-lining, zorbing to a human slingshot (right on), each tent sleeps up to four people (two adults and two kids under 16), with prices started from Dhs999 per night.
And each tent comes with a king bed, two single sofa beds, free wi-fi (essential for all the Insta-gloating you’ll be trolling your followers with), TV, mini fridge, bathroom amenities, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, and a few other bits and bobs. Iron and ironing board are available on request (in case you want to put a crease in your chinos before paragliding).
