Quick Guide to Al Bateen Beach

A free beach in Abu Dhabi needs to be at the top of your to do list

Now you’re talking! This place looks absolutely lovely.
You should expect nothing less from us by now. We only take you to the best places in Abu Dhabi. And this is definitely a must-visit now that the weather is gorgeous again.

Go on then. Where is it?
Al Bateen Beach, which overlooks Hudariyat Island and Hudariyat Bridge to the west.

There are a few beaches around the city, though. What’s so special about this one?
Well, firstly, just look at it. It’s beautiful, well-managed (there are lifeguards, too) and boasts clear blue waters beyond its shores. It was also given the Blue Flag sustainability award by the Emirates Wildlife Authority.

So I can lessen my carbon footprint by going to the beach, essentially. Is that what you’re saying?
Not exactly, but you’re definitely not doing any harm to the environment by going.

Result. What else can I do?
Plenty. There’s a playground for kids, areas to play a bit of footie in, a restaurant and activities including kayaking and paddling, available from the beach’s water sports centre, where you can rent equipment.

Is there an entrance fee?
Nope! It’s totally free. But you can splash some cash by renting out sunloungers and towels or having a bite to eat, naturally.
Open 7am-midnight. Al Bateen.
