Everything you need to know about Abu Dhabi’s biggest custom car show

Custom Show Emirates is back with exhibitions, workshops and more

The fifth edition of Custom Show Emirates is almost upon us, so it’s about time that every car and bike fan started revving  their engines in excited anticipation.

Held from March 28 to 30 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, more than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the thrilling motor event.

With 180-plus exhibitors on the line-up and a whole host of activities to take part in, we’re helping you be in pole position for all the action with this handy guide to the region’s most exciting custom motor show.

Stalls
This year’s event is bigger than ever, with a record number of exhibitors bringing their top-of-the-range customisation products and services to the capital. Visitors can buy products directly from the companies themselves, and get inspired for their own motor projects. The stallholders have driven and ridden in from countries as far afield as Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Russia, China, New Zealand, India and Japan.

Saeed Al Marzooqui, chairman of Custom Events UAE, says: “More than 110 local and 70 international exhibitors from 17 countries will be occupying 47,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space. We thank our sponsors, partners, exhibitors and visitors for their participation and look forward to welcoming everyone.’’

Competitions
This is the perfect place to show off your customising skills. The challenges include an engine battle, biker build-off, custom car competition and custom bike competition. The winners will be presented with their prizes up on the main stage and one ride from the custom bike competition will be chosen to represent Custom Show Emirates and the UAE at the next Swiss Custom Show, with flights and accommodation for the four-day event in Zurich thrown in for good measure.

Shows
There’s loads of adrenaline-filled action to watch. You’ll be left open-mouthed at the amazing displays, which include 4×4 drifting, saloon drifting, bike drifting, stunt driving, a bike parade and a 4×4 obstacle course. You’ll also be able to watch the experts at work in the leather works, customisation and air brushing demonstrations.

Activities
Mini petrolheads will love exploring the many fun and educational activities in the kids’ garage, while bigger kids will have the time of their lives enjoying the in-car entertainment zone, dyno zone and wheelie machine.

Bikes and sand vehicles
Of course you can expect to see loads of awesome cars, but there’s a big focus on two wheels, too. More than 100 unique bikes will be up on display, with custom bike builders on hand to offer tips and advice. There’s also a dedicated area for custom sand vehicles, which is handy if you love heading out to the desert as much as we do.

Background
This is the fifth edition of the event, which has evolved to become the biggest custom car, bike and parts show in the region. Last year’s event attracted more than 30,000 visitors and the show has strong links with other successful custom car and bike festivals around the world. These include SEMA in the USA, MBE Expo in Italy, Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan and Swiss Moto in Switzerland.
