How to get to the stunning Expo 2020 Dubai Lake

The man-made body of water can be found in Al Qudra

The biggest event of the year is making plenty of progress for its massive debut this October, but there’s an air of mystery around one aspect of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The lake that recently popped up (you may have seen it on Time Out Dubai’s Instagram account from photographer @lostmagpie) has Expo organisers stumped.

It’s near Babs Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa and Last Exit Al Qudra by Meraas.

You can see it on Google Maps here.

The best way of getting there is heading along the D63 route, past Last Exit and by turning right on the road that also leads to Al Qudra Lakes.

Once you’re there it’s time to take out the camera and get exploring.

Expo 2020 tell Time Out Dubai that it had no part in creating it and first new about it after seeing Dubai-based photographer Moustafa (@100pixels) post it on Instagram.

Other man-made lakes including the Al Qudra Lakes (close by) were created by the Dubai civic body, the office of the Engineers of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This could be another amazing project unveiled by the government, but there’s no official confirmation of that yet.

Watch this sight for further updates on the mystery team behind the stunning lake.
