Check out the West Bay re-opening
Looking for a great beachy resort to hang out at in Abu Dhabi? West Bay Abu Dhabi has just reopened on the Corniche and it’s the perfect place to wind down this weekend. Changes to the West Bay Lounge include a glass exterior to keep temperatures cool, a deck overlooking the Abu Dhabi Corniche shoreline and an enhanced menu. Catch you there.

Get a ticket for Disney On Ice Presents: Find Your Hero
Looking for a super-cool show this weekend? Join Disney On Ice and go on a skating adventure with some of your favourite Disney characters. From voyaging unchartered terrorities with Moana and Maui to diving under the sea with Ariel and Sebastien, this is one escapade at the Etihad Arena which you will want to pluck up every ounce of bravery to see. It is the first confirmed theatre show for Abu Dhabi in 2021, with organisers promising more announcements in the coming months. We’re skating into the weekend.

Watch Shang Chi : The Legend of the 10 Rings
If you love Marvel then it’s time to head to the cinema this weekend. The American superhero film (which is also Marvel’s first movie with an Asian-American lead) is based on the Marvel Comic featuring the film’s namesake character. Shang-Chi (played by Simu Liu) is being drawn into the Ten Rings organisation where he is forced to confront his painful past. The movie is out on Thursday September 2 and is rated PG13.

Have a meal at Social
Have you ever had a burger at a hip restaurant… in the middle of a parking lot? High ceilings, glass walls and surrounding shrubbery at Social give the impression that you’ve walked into someone’s greenhouse, albeit one they’ve just decided to turn into café. The food is unexpected, too, with gourmet burgers and fresh twists on classic favourites to try. We had a great time, and we think you will, too.

Head to The Coffee Club for 30 days of deals
The Coffee Club has launched 30 days of deals, meaning that each time you visit this month you have the chance to save. Head there on Saturday and you’ll get an appetiser for Dhs14 whenever you purchase a main course. There are other great deals to look forward to, such as buy one get one free on pasta dishes on Monday September 6, Dhs1 drinks with any sandwich purchase on Tuesday September 7, and buy one get one on any plant-based item on Sunday September 12. The popular upmarket shopping centre, Nation Towers Mall, has opened two new spas: Jazz Lounge Spa and Tips & Toes. Jazz Lounge Spa is for the gents and offers specialist treatments, including skincare treatments, massages, Moroccan and Turkish baths as well as hair care and hair removal services. Tips and Toes is for the ladies and includes all the regular services you’d expect such as nails, waxing, eyelash extensions and threading, massages, facials, body treatments and hammam services. MPAC is a UAE staple in the sports scene. With locations in Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai and Sharjah, MPAC has continued to dominate the youth basketball scene in the Middle East. Join the local league this weekend for some sporting fun. If you’re just beginning to find your feet in the sport, try out one of their coaching sessions.
