I need to shut off and relax. Help me, Time Out.
Don’t we all.
I’m thinking beaches, pools and cabanas – I need opulence.
Well we’re not short of that here in Abu Dhabi.
That’s why I love this place. So, where are you taking me this week?
We’ll easily tick all of the boxes in the criteria you’ve mentioned by taking you to the amazing Saadiyat Beach Club.
Interesting. What’s so good about this place?
Saadiyat Beach Club is nestled away on the stunning island of Saadiyat. The club celebrates health and wellness in natural surroundings and boasts beautiful facilities that are worthy of royalty. The place has been know to attract the odd celebrity from time to time, so keep your eyes peeled when you’re dipping into the pool.
What’s the beach like?
We’ll be honest, it’s one of the best beaches in the UAE. Whether you’re in the mood for a lounger or a beach cabana, pick your spot for the day and laze around a breezy shore that could be anywhere from South Africa to California. The club is even part of a protected habitat where hawksbill turtles have nested for countless years.
What’s pool area like?
One of the first things you’ll notice when you enter the modern club is the bright blue outdoor 650 square metre chilled infinity pool. Surrounded by private cabanas that seem to float above the water like miniature islands, the pool is a sight for sore eyes.
What about the spa?
Indulge in the relaxing treatments and beauty therapies, or go for a nice hot dip in a Jacuzzi. Alternatively, treat yourself to a sauna session, or a soak in a steam room or plunge pool.
What else can I do?
There’s a 257 square metre space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the gardens and the beach dedicated to working out. Get a pump on at the gym, or eat at one of the many restaurants here.
Open 9am-sunset. Saadiyat Island (02 656 3500).
Only in Saadiyat Beach Club
De La Costa
De La Costa is an evening bar within Saadiyat Beach Club that opens at 5pm and serves delicious bar snacks al fresco into the early hours. The tables are so close to the beach you can hear the waves lapping up in the near distance. From the second you turn into the Saadiyat Beach Club grounds, it’s a VIP experience. Hear the sounds of live Spanish music while a flamenco dancer entertains.
