World Music Day is coming to the Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi

The international music celebration will take place tomorrow

If you’re looking for things to do in Abu Dhabi this weekend, then we’ve got another brilliant suggestion for you.

The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi and Alliance Française Abu Dhabi are hosting Fête de la Musique or World Music Day celebration tomorrow (Friday June 21) from 2pm until 10.30pm.

Taking place in the public square at the popular shopping destination, the free musical event will feature 10 different nationalities all performing together.

Held in honour of the UAE’s Year of Tolerance and to celebrate the many different nationalities living in the UAE, 23 performances will take place throughout the day.

World Music Day is observed in 120 countries throughout the world, and the event in Abu Dhabi will also feature an international song contest.

Sultan Al Hajji, president of Alliance Française Abu Dhabi, said : “We are thrilled to bring this event to life with more than twenty-three performances by 50 musicians, both professional and amateur, from all around the world.

“They will perform a wide variety of musical genres, including Emirati music, blues, rock, jazz, R’n’B, electronic music, pop, Indian and Mediterranean to name but a few.”
