Sharing a bill with The Killers in Abu Dhabi would be nice, wouldn’t it?
Well, if you’re an up-and-coming musician there’s the chance to play at du Arena during this year’s post-race Yasalam concerts.
The Yasalam Emerging Talent Competition gives musicians the chance to have their big moment in the spotlight.
If you’re a singer or band all you need to do is go to the Yasalam website and upload an image and some music before September 30.
Then, a panel of industry experts will create a shortlist of ten acts to progress to the next stage, where they’ll be mentored and receive training ahead of performing an acoustic set in front of a crowds.
Three acts will then progress to the grand final at du Arena before one winner will be picked to play at the Village one of the Yasaalam gigs during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, as well as being given the chance to start a career in the msuic business.
Last year’s winner was Honduran/Emirati singer/songwriter FAFA, who grew a love of the blues while studying in Chicago. Since winning in 2018 she’s released a single, Runnin’ (Can’t Stop Me), and is about to release a second, called Toxic Love. She’s also a regular live performer.
It could be you this year, remember to enter before September 30.
