Where to see Diwali fireworks in Abu Dhabi this week

It’s about to light up

Fireworks, they’re brilliant.

Katy Perry even wrote a song about them and now you’re singing it in your head.

We’re not sure why exploding colours in the sky are so satisfying to watch but we love a good fireworks display in Abu Dhabi.

Looking to see the night’s sky light up this week for Diwali?

Taking place from October 31 to November 2, Yas Mega Mela Festival will feature a host of cultural performances, activities, celebrity appearances, art, theatre and food.

The three-day event will celebrate Indian culture and lifestyle, with Bollywood musical performances and celebrity appearances from singers Junaid Currimbhoy, Kanika Kapoor, and Ankit Tiwari alongside Indian culinary masters Chef Vicky Ratnani and Chef Sandeep Sreedharan.

A Taste of India event will also serve up fresh street food and Indian specialties, plus pop-up stores will sell Indian wares and designs for you to take home.

A dedicated children’s zone will also be on site to keep little ones busy with a cricket academy, competitions, classes and activities.

Okay, we know what you’re thinking, what about the fireworks?

Every night a fireworks display will take place at the arena from 9pm and it will add a bit of colour to the celebrations.

We can’t wait.

Looking for more Diwali celebrations? The Festival of Lights returns to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi this week, too.

We’ll see you there.
