In news many Abu Dhabi residents were waiting for, hotel pools were given the green light to start opening their swimming pools.
The Department of Tourism and Culture – Abu Dhabi (DCT) sent a circular to the emirate’s hotels on Thursday July 16 saying their pools could reopen, but only if strict measures were adhered to.
DCT has since announced the list of measures through the Abu Dhabi Media Office Twitter account.

The measures include a maximum capacity of 50 percent, physical distancing of all people in the pool, sunbeds and loungers 2m apart, signage promoting social distancing in place and regular sanitising of all facilities.
Tests on staff and temperature checks on guests is also needed and smart payments are encouraged.
Some have already announced when their pool is open. Fairmont Bab Al Bahr’s pool is open from 9am to sunset.
