Celebrate Cherry Blossom Season with Yamanote Atelier’s new Japanese pastries

Japanese bakery launches sweet new Sakura range, available for delivery

Sucker for sweet treats? In need of something to celebrate? Japan’s Cherry Blossom, or Sakura, Season starts at the beginning of April, but the UAE’s Yamanote Atelier is kicking things off early.

The Dubai-born Japanese bakery brand was launched back in 2013, and is well known for its cute baked goods, including Nutella-filled cats and chocolate cream-crammed minions, but for the spring celebration there are five new pastries to try.

The Yamanote Sakura croissant is a tribute to the bakery and café’s best-selling Yamanote croissant, only filled with Sakura custard cream, topped with pink icing and a salted, edible Sakura flower.

But it’s the pain au Sakura chocolat we’ve got our eye on – a riff on the classic pain au chocolat, except baked with matcha, filled with Sakura-blended chocolate and scattered with edible Sakura flowers.

Other new treats include a mascarpone and cherry-filled Sakura bar, Sakura French toast, and the Sakura custard pie, plus drinks including a Sakura Matcha Tea comprised of matcha powder, cherry syrup and strawberry flakes, served with shaved milk chocolate.

Every item is available now until April 15 at all Yamanote cafés and restaurants across the UAE, as well as for home delivery.
