Learn to make Swedish pastries with a pro baker online

Online experiences launched to help boost your skills in the kitchen

We get it, your first foray into home baking in the UAE probably didn’t go quite as planned, and you’re probably supremely tired of seeing banana bread on Instagram. If so, virtual baking classes being put on by home-sharing platform Airbnb might be what you’re in need for.

The site has taken a string of its experiences and activities online – usually a bolt-on, bookable tour or pottery class or what-have-you that accompany your real-life booking.

Considering we can’t travel due to these rather difficult times, some of the experiences are now online and available for you to try from home, such as Swedish pastry baking. For £10 (Dhs45.30), you’ll get a 90-minute session on Zoom, where you’ll gain insights into traditional Swedish baking, like cinnamon and cardamom buns and other recipes.

You’ll want to get your camera set up properly because it’s a completely interactive class, led by expert Swedish baker Lhea, who will give you plenty of advice along the way.

And if you were on the fence before, it has a 4.96 out of 5 rating.

You can book into the class by clicking here.
