How to take part in France’s World Music Day virtually from the UAE

The event is organised by The Alliances Françaises and Institut Français

Back in 1982, France’s Minister of Culture at the time, Jack Lang, decided the first day of summer would be Music Day (or, Fête de la Musique in French).

He created a free celebration dedicated to all kind of music played by professional and amateur musicians every June 21.

Today the event takes place in more than 800 cities in 120 countries, incuding the UAE, thanks to the Alliance Française of Abu Dhabi.

This year, due to the pandemic the celebration will take place virtually.

First, the Alliance Française Dubai will present the live concert “FRENCHY” by Benjamin Piat on Facebook from 5pm to 6pm, a live version of live latest album of the samename.

From 6pm it’s musical play time, and everyone is asked to sing and play at home until 8pm. All you need to do is to get on Instagram and post it live or publish later using the hashtag #WORLDMUSICDAY2020 and by tagging @institutfrancaisuae @alliancefrancaisedubai @afabudhabi.

Performances will be reposted on the Instagram stories of each account.
