Abu Dhabi tourists can now claim back VAT using self-service kiosks

There’s a chance to save money before leaving the UAE

Since November 2018, visitors to the UAE have been able to claim back any Value Added Tax (VAT) they have spent on goods while on holiday.

And now the process has just got easier with the introduction of self-service kiosks.

The systems have been set up across all of the UAE exit points that are included in the “Tax Refunds for Tourists Scheme”.

The aim behind the new kiosks is to provide greater ease and speed in processing VAT refund requests for tourists on purchases made during their stays in the UAE.

There will also be employees available near all the kiosks to offer assistance when needed.

To claim your VAT back all you need are your tax invoices, passport and credit card. It’s as simple as that.

There’s also no limit placed on the maximum amount that can be claimed back to your credit card, however if you want a cash refund the maximum amount is Dhs10,000 per day.

Good news for tourists.
