Low cost airline launches new route between Abu Dhabi and Muscat

The flights are four times per week

Travelling between Muscat and Abu Dhabi just got a whole lot cheaper after budget airline SalamAir announced a new route between the two capital cities.

Starting tomorrow (Tuesday September 10), Muscat-based carrier SalamAir will fly between the cities four times a week, with flights lasting an hour.

Abu Dhabi is SalamAir’s sixth destination in the Gulf Cooperation Council, with routes already in place between Abu Dhabi and Salalah, and Muscat and Dubai.

“The decision to launch this direct service between Muscat and Abu-Dhabi means we remain on track in executing our strategy to redefine the budget travel market in the region,” Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, said.

“Combined with our current popular flights to Dubai, our Abu-Dhabi direct flights offer yet another dimension to travellers going onto the UAE or connecting though Muscat to other places. We are confident this will create growth opportunities in trade as well between both countries.”

The flights from Muscat to Abu Dhabi listed on SalamAir’s website cost OMR30.50 (Dhs291), while the flights from Abu Dhabi to Muscat is OMR30.20 (Dhs288).
