Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways announces flights to Chinese capital Beijing

Flights from China to begin from December 7

Etihad Airways has announced the resumption of flights between the capitals of the UAE and China.

Flights from Beijing to Abu Dhabi will start from Monday December 7 and will operate a once weekly flight.

Etihad Airways previously resumed regular flights to Shanghai earlier this year.

The UAE airline is now the only carrier in the Middle East to operate non-stop passenger flights from both Shanghai and Beijing.

“China continues to be a strategically important market for Etihad and resuming an additional passenger route connecting China with Abu Dhabi is a welcome development,” said Martin Drew, senior vice president of sales and cargo at Etihad Aviation Group.

“Being granted the rights to operate the second weekly flight by the Chinese government was huge recognition of the unrelenting joint efforts by the airline, testing institutions in the UAE, and the authorities in both countries, in the battle against COVID-19.

“Etihad is tremendously grateful for the support of the authorities, its customers and partners, and its employees in these most challenging of times, and Etihad stands ready to fly more frequently to China when possible.”

Etihad Airways recently announced that visas on arrival will now be granted in Abu Dhabi for all incoming passengers that meet the criteria.
