Dubai’s Emirates Airline schedules flights to bring UAE nationals and residents home

Flights will begin on February 2

UAE nationals and residents stranded in the UK will be able catch a flight back to Dubai via Emirates Airline from Tuesday February 2.

Services between the two countries came to a temporary halt on Friday January 29 when the UK government banned departures and arrivals to and from the UAE.

But Emirates Airline has confirmed return flights will operate daily from London Heathrow and four times a week from Manchester.

Services from Glasgow and Birmingham remain cargo only at this time.

A spokesperson confirmed: “Emirates remains committed to serving customers in the UK and will reinstate outbound passenger operations from 2 February.

“We are working closely with all relevant authorities. Passengers traveling from the UK are required to check their eligibility for travel as per the UK government advisory as well as check the local entry requirements of their destination to ensure they are permitted to travel. More information is available at emirates.com.”

Prior to the UAE being added to the UK’s ‘red list’ for travel, the Emirates was part of the country’s travel list, meaning visitors could avoid the mandatory ten-day quarantine in place for foreign arrivals.
