Flights from India to UAE suspended until further notice

Services had been stopped until May 14

Flights arriving into the UAE from India have been suspended until further notice.

Services from the subcontinent had been frozen until Friday May 14, but the UAE’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority have moved to shut down the flight path altogether.

Anyone who was in India in the 14-days prior to their proposed arrival in the UAE is all banned from entering the country.

Some passengers are exempt from the new restrictions, including UAE citizens, diplomats, official delegations and golden residence holders.

They will, however, be subject to a ten-day quarantine period and PCR testing at the airport.

The initial test will be followed by two more swabs on the fourth and eighth days after touching down.

The required PCR testing period prior to travel has also been reduced from 72 to 48 hours, and all tests must be administered by accredited laboratories that issue results carrying a QR code.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed that travellers coming from India through other nations are required to provide proof of stay in those countries of no less than 14 days in order to be allowed to enter the UAE.

Cargo flights will continue to operate between the two countries.

Anyone affected by the change in circumstance is being urged to contact their airline to reschedule their flights.
