Public transport timings in Abu Dhabi for Eid Al Fitr

Expect five days of free parking, too

Tomorrow (Tuesday May 11) marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of a five-day weekend for Eid Al-Fitr 2021.

And to celebrate the upcoming break, Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport has announced new timings for parking, tolls, and buses.

MAWAQiF parking bays

MAWAQiF parking bays will be free of charge from Tuesday May 11 until Shawwal 3 (which is expected to fall on Saturday May 15) and it’s also been announced that the Mussafah Industrial area parking lot (M18) will be free of charge during the holiday.

Bus services

The ITC has stated that during the Eid Al-Fitr 2021 break, public bus service timings across the capital will follow the normal Friday schedule.

Darb tolls

At the beginning of 2021, Abu Dhabi introduced road tolls meaning all motorists visiting the emirate are required to register their vehicle (you can head here for everything you need to know about Abu Dhabi’s road toll system).

It’s been announced that Abu Dhabi’s Darb toll gate system will be free of charge from Tuesday May 11 until Shawwal 3. Charges will resume once the holiday is over and will be applicable during peak hours: 7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm from Saturday to Thursday.
