Visit Tel Aviv and experience its legendary street festival

Partner content: Music, food and entertainment create a magical atmosphere on White Night this June

Everyone thinks New York is the city that never sleeps. While that may be true, Tel Aviv is also a metropolis that is famous for rarely going to bed. And in this vibrant city, one festival in particular stands out from the others as the highlight of the social calendar: White Night.

One of the major cultural events of the year, White Night, or Laila Lavan in Hebrew, takes place on June 30. Dozens of festive events will pop up around the city, inviting tourists and locals – young and old – to meet and greet, eat, drink, dance and listen to live music from dusk until dawn.

Tel Aviv’s gorgeous beaches will host concerts, stores will stay open all night, cinemas will show movies, and the party scene will never quit. For a cultural fix, check out the many cultural exhibitions and historical tours taking place, while the city’s fascinating museums and galleries extend their opening hours to allow more visitors to take a look inside.

One of the key events of White Night in 2022 will happen at Eretz Israel Museum (MUSA), which is partnering with local radio station Teder to create an unforgettable night of live music performances, a jazz festival, movie screenings, video art and folk dancing. Over at the Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance and Theatre, meanwhile, local dancers will stage al fresco performances blended with video mapping.

Tel Aviv has been spruced up and is ready to welcome visitors this summer. Awaiting travellers are a string of award-winning beaches, beautiful promenades, historical landmarks, excellent restaurants, warm sunshine, and cafes that are bustling with activity.

A range of accommodation is available to suit every budget, from trendy boutique hotels like Vera, Ink or The Norman, to a huge number of hospitable Airbnb properties. All the major international hotel chains are here, too, such as David Kempinski, The Setai and David InterContinental. It’s an ideal city for walking, or for exploring on two wheels with bicycles and scooters readily available for rental throughout the city. Local artisans specialising in fashion, art and jewellery make Tel Aviv an exciting shopping hub, too. With all this going on in Tel Aviv this summer, you won’t have to time to sleep.
