Abu Dhabi’s Mangrove Walk at Jubail Mangrove Park opened in January this year and quickly became one of the most popular attractions in the city.
Thousands of visitors have explored the attraction since it opened to experience beautiful scenery offering an escape from busy city life.
After being temporarily closed due to the spread of COVID-19, the attraction is set to reopen to the public.
An entrance fee has also been announced for the reopening. For adults admission is Dhs15, Dhs10 for children under the age of 18 and free for children under seven. Family discounts are available.

How to get there?
The attraction is located on Jubail Island, located between Saadiyat Island and Yas Island.
The location can be accessed coming from Yas Island or Dubai or the other direction from downtown Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat Island.
Search for Jubail Island on your GPS and once you arrive follow signs for Jubail Mangrove Park.
When is it open?
The walkway is open daily from 8am to 7.30pm. Last entry is at 6pm.
Before you visit, it’s worth noting that a maximum holding capacity is in place at the attraction.
If visitor numbers exceed the maximum number you will have to wait for some visitors to leave before being permitted entry into the walkway.
How much does it cost?
For adults the admission is Dhs15, Dhs10 for children under the age of 18 and free for children under seven. Family discounts are available.
What can you do there?
There are three pathways to walk, the longest covers a distance of 2km and the shortest is 1km.
The paths allow you to take a stroll through the mangroves, explore the natural landscape and go wildlife spotting.
A floating platform with netting is also on site where you can take a look at the marine life underwater.
In addition rangers are on site around the park to answer questions you have about the local environment and wildlife.
An information centre and viewing platform (for those perfect pictures) is also at the site.
Is it safe for children?
It is child friendly, but children under the age of 12 aren’t allowed to enter unsupervised.
Schools are also able to book trips to the site to learn about the local ecosystem.
There is also a children’s educational area.
Can you have a picnic?
First and foremost, the Mangrove Walk is an ecological site.
There is a strict no-food policy at the attraction meaning that litter and packaging taken on to the site will be minimalised to help preserve the natural environment.
There is a café on site selling hot drinks and some food but no food or packaging will be permitted along the walkway to help preserve the local ecosystem.
Anything else to know?
In times of high tide you will be able to spot a variety of wildlife including fish and birds, however in times of low tide there will be less water and marine life will be at a minimum.
The attraction is also set to close in the summer months, however an exact date is yet to be announced.
In addition pets are not permitted, you cannot smoke or go fishing at the site either.
