Since opening in November 2020, Cove Beach Abu Dhabi has established itself as an island of relaxation in an ocean of construction (among other things).
But despite the building site drive up to the location (it’s quite awkward to reach), patrons of the beach club in the Makers District of Reem Island will find a sense of seclusion that generally eludes inner-city escapes.
Split into two sections, turn right for the restaurant, complete with terrace and swimming pool. It’s spacious and minimalist in design. Cool for a quick bite to eat, but why would you come to a beach club if the intention is to sit inside? And observing the outdoor areas, it is clear this is where the emphasis is placed and where most people are sitting back, having a drink and enjoying themselves.
Port side is where the action really is, with another pool, palm trees, and a fancy bar playing slick beats that help guests settle into the uber-comfortable sofas and lounge chairs.
And of course, pool days are king at location that has 300 metres of pristine sand plus the two aforementioned pools.
One could almost get too comfortable such is the chill.
Visit for a pool day and you’ll be able to get your spend back in F&B credit (Dhs200 entry Sun-Wed, Dhs300 entry Thu-Sat).
A happy hour would make this place a perfect post-work haunt during the week, when the crowd is also likely to be a little thinner. That said, Sunday and Monday see deals for cabin crew, teachers, hospitality and healthcare staff in flow, with packages starting from Dhs199 between 2pm and 5pm.
Your industry not included? Hold tight until Thursday, when ladies and gents can get their mitts on pink grape and mixed drinks for Dhs149 and Dhs299 (including unlimited hops) respectively.
On the gastronomic front, Cove is a sight for pescatarian eyes, with sushi and seafood dishes dominating the food card, plus a few beef and chicken burgers diversifying the mix.
Cove Beach is well worth the trip out to Reem Island – head down for a beach day to get the best value from your jaunt.
