Abu Dhabi already had two Buddha-Bars: Buddha-Bar Beach at St. Regis Saadiyat Island and Barfly by Buddha-Bar in the Venetian Village. Then The Trilogy by Buddha-Bar opened in Yas Bay and brought three new concepts to the capital, including Siddharta Lounge.
If you’re wondering where to go in The Trilogy, Zeera is the modern Indian restaurant and Bushra is a MENA-inspired resto, while Siddharta Lounge is the rooftop lounge and restaurant with Mediterranean-Asian fusion bites and drinks – and prime views of Yas Bay. If it’s views you’re after, head up the elevator (don’t be intimidated by the bouncer), to the top of The Trilogy by Buddha-Bar.
The lounge-restaurant is nowhere close to being in the sky – it has its feet more on the ground at just three floors, but the open-air space offers unobstructed views of iconic Abu Dhabi sunsets. There’s no window glass to obscure photos here. And the prime location on the water had Siddharta Lounge being billed as a top firework-watching spot since it opened.
It’s the endless views you will remember, but the décor won’t go unnoticed. A DJ spins thumping beats in the middle of the room. And there is an array of seating from beachy-glam wicker chairs to extended lounges padded with colourful pillows.
If you’re after nibbles and drinks, the menu caters tapas, sushi and ceviche, as well as more substantial mains.
Buddha-Bars’ maki are always a popular pick, and here around Dhs110 for eight pieces, while tapas plates generally sit under Dhs100.
Stylish, welcoming staff make sure you feel right at home (not always the case in some of the city’s swankier settings), and it’s easy to relax and soak up the vibe.
With shareable plates, plenty of drink options and a cool-but-comfortable atmosphere, Siddharta Lounge is a smart place to start or end your night.
