Three Abu Dhabi brunches to try this weekend for under Dhs300

Try these Time Out recommended venues

Brunch, is it possible to have a top weekend without it? We’re not convinced.

Looking to go out and enjoy a top brunch this weekend but don’t want to break the bank? Worry not, we’ve got you covered.

Try these Time Out recommended brunches for under Dhs300.

Hip-Hop Brunch at Back Yard Bistro

We think it’s fair to say that Back Yard Bistro is a bit of an unusual venue. There really isn’t anywhere like it in Abu Dhabi. Inside you’ll find an industrial garage kind of vibe, with truck parts used for seats, tables and even the DJ booth. Even the sinks in the bathroom are made from petrol pumps operated by foot pedals. Unusual it may be, it’s also very popular and since starting in October, Friday’s hip-hop brunch has been a sell-out every week. The tables are all full (and socially distanced) and the atmosphere is lively, which is great to see. On the menu is a mix of bar food. For starters you get nachos, chicken wings, chicken tenders, onion rings, spring rolls and more.

La Dolce Vita Brunch at Verso

Italian’s really have it sussed when it comes to dining and enjoying great food. It’s not uncommon for families and friends spend hours at the dinner table enjoying course after course, from antipasti and pasta to meats and cheeses, with breaks between. It’s that leisurely, relaxed approach to the dining experience that Verso has captured with La Dolca Vita (which translates as ‘the good life’) brunch. Bookings also get you access to the so you can make your way to the table in your own time after enjoying a dip. At Verso, as with many other brunches, plate after plate arrives at the table and if you clear the lot, you’ll never make the main courses, never mind the desserts. This one is split into sections. First comes antipasti and seafood, then it’s pasta to share, followed by main courses and finally, pud. There is a lot of food, so take your time, go slow, be conservative when ordering and play the long game, the Italian way, over a few hours.

Sundowners Brunch at Brick Rooftop Kitchen

At Brick Rooftop Kitchen there is no escaping the elements. The al fresco bar and restaurant takes up a large space on the roof of Aloft Abu Dhabi and enjoys great views of the surrounding area, especially at night. Now, with the launch of a new Thursday brunch, it is making the most of its lofty perch and starting the weekend with a bang. The Sundowners brunch actually starts just as the sun has dipped below the horizon but as the golden glow turns to the dark of night, it offers a brilliant chance to gaze out towards the Capital Gate building, the furthest leaning man-made building in the world don’t you know. On the menu there are loads of bar-friendly fare to choose from including ribs, wings and pizza, that will be delivered to your table as you order them.
