Warehouse 421 Abu Dhabi announces new exhibitions, events and workshops

There’s loads going on in Mina Zayed

Warehouse 421 is back open to the public with a new look and new attractions and events to check out.

Head along to the venue over the next few months to catch exhibitions, attend film screenings and join in a series of workshops.

Launching on Saturday January 30 until Sunday March 21, Float, an exhibition from Stephanie Comilang features two films that focus on the lives of overseas Filipino workers.

Lumapit Sa Akin, Paraiso follows three Filipinos in Hong Kong while Diaspora Ad Astra follows the flight of Filipino seafarers quarantined offshore as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday February 2, Stephanie will also be talking about her work through a live stream from 7pm.

Back with a new exhibition this year, 100 Best Arabic Posters has returned until Thursday April 29 to showcase the leading work by graphic designers in the UAE and across the region.

Another exhibition worth checking out is Mina Zayed: Reflections on Past Futures, running from Saturday January 30 to Sunday June 13, which documents the history of Mina Zayed through works of 11 photographers including Fatema Al Fardan, Lateefa Almazrooei, Lena Kassicieh, Lara Rudar, Maryam Al Huraiz and Sandra Zarneshan.

On Tuesday Febraury 16, the Artist Talks programme will also resume with four artists, Catherine Donaldson, Lateefa Almazrooei, Mazna Almazrouei, and Fatema Al Fardan, who will discuss their works on display at the cultural hub.

Helping you to learn new skills and be creative, a host of workshops will also be held between January and March including mask making, 3D design and more.

Finally, helping share a love of film with the public, Cinema Akil will be screening films at the venue over the next few months.

Outdoor screenings, which are subject to strict safety guidelines, will be announced in the coming weeks and tickets will be limited to ensure safe social distancing.
