Louvre Abu Dhabi announces new medieval exhibition

There’s now more to see at Saadiyat Island culture hub

Over the past two years, Louvre Abu Dhabi has shared amazing art and history with the capital.

Numerous exhibitions, events, activities and attractions have kept us going back and the museum’s latest exhibition is another that’s caught our attention.

From February 19 to May 30, the Furusiyya: The Art of Chivalry between East and West exhibition will be held at the venue.

The latest exhibition features 130 artefacts including medieval armour, riding gear and battle equipment, as well as illuminated manuscripts.

Split into three sections, items on show originate from the Middle East, France, Germany and more, from between the 11th and 16th centuries.

The new exhibition is in line with the museum’s theme for the current cultural season, Changing Societies.

“Furusiyya: The Art of Chivalry between East and West is the perfect exhibition to take place at Louvre Abu Dhabi,” said Manuel Rabaté, director of Louvre Abu Dhabi.

“Our home city has always been a gateway between East and West and is a natural stage for this exploration of a key moment in Arab history and its cross-cultural exchanges with the Western World.”

We can’t wait to visit and see it for ourselves.
