Abu Dhabi Festival is back and it’s bringing artists from all around the world to Abu Dhabi over the course of 2022. Artists across visual art, opera, classical music, jazz, dance, film and literature will perform and create work throughout the year, celebrating the wealth of culture and art in Abu Dhabi.
The festival will run under the theme, Crafting the Emirates State of Mind: Creation, Innovation and Joy. Founded in 2004 and organised by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, the annual festival is the largest cultural celebration in the region and reaches across the world. You can expect a hybrid programme of events, including physical and streamed music and dance performances.
Lately, it seems like there is a new festival being announced in Abu Dhabi every other day. From the Al Hosn festival bringing arts and culture to Qasr Al Hosn later this month, to the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival happening in Al Wathbah, to the Mother of the Nation Festival taking the Abu Dhabi Corniche by storm in early December – there’s so much to do, we’re not sure where to begin.
Get your calendar ready, because Abu Dhabi Festival is certainly one to add to your list for things to do in Abu Dhabi in 2022.
Highlights on the roster include a ballet gala by Roberto Bolle, which is taking place at Emirates Palace on January 9, 2022 and the Paolo Fresu Trio – a jazz performance happening at Umm Al Emarat Park on March 6, 2022.
