Abu Dhabi attractions and venues temporarily closed

Places affected include the Louvre, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, cinemas and public parks

In light of recent global events, a number of bars, clubs and attractions in Abu Dhabi have been asked to close temporarily.

The closures are effective immediately until further notice.

Below is a list of venues that are affected. Check back as we continue to update the list.

A statment from the Department of Culture & Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) said: “In line with precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of visitors, DCT Abu Dhabi decided to close cultural sites in the emirate temporarily until March 31. The safety and wellbeing of our visitors and staff is of paramount importance to us.”

A tweet from the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office said “advisory notices will be updated regularly by visitor destinations across the emirate” and that people should check with each place directly.

Supermarkets will remain open but a minimum safe distance of 1.5 metres is advised and markers will be placed on the floor to assist customers.
