The Galleria Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi set to reopen on May 2

Here is the latest from the shopping destination

Mubadala has announced that The Galleria Al Maryah Island is set to reopen to the public.

The Mall, located on Al Maryah Island, will reopen on May 2 after successfully fulfilling all precautionary measures set by the Department of Economic Development.

Opening hours will be from noon to 9pm, except for supermarkets and pharmacies that will open from 9am to 10pm.

Yas Mall and Al Jimi Mall are also set to open on May 2.

Last week a series of guidelines were issued to malls and shopping destinations in the city outlining the necessary safety requirements to prepare for reopening to the public.

Malls in Abu Dhabi can reopen once they meet some stringent health and safety guidelines. Once open they will be inspected regularly.

Among the new regulations for the reopening of malls include, a maximum capacity of 30 percent, the installation of thermal inspection devices, separate entrances and exits and more.

In addition, all shoppers are only permitted to visit for a maximum of two hours, must abide by social distancing rules, wear protective masks and are advised to use contactless payment where possible and bring reusable bags.

All mall staff are also required to be tested for COVID-19 and must wear masks and gloves at all times.
