UAE residents reminded of Abu Dhabi border regulations and requirements

Drivers asked to be prepared for the checkpoints

Abu Dhabi has had border restrictions in place since June to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

In order to increase traffic flow, prevent long queues and ensure all drivers arriving at the check points are prepared, Abu Dhabi Police have issued a reminder of the rules.

Currently, all UAE residents entering Abu Dhabi must present a negative PCR test result from the past 48 hours at the border or book a DPI screening test at the border before arriving.

All those wishing to enter Abu Dhabi must also present a valid Emirates ID. In addition, vehicles may have no more than three people and they must all wear a face mask.

Once in Abu Dhabi, all arrivals, regardless of what emirate they reside in, must complete another PCR test if they’re still in Abu Dhabi on the sixth day after entering.

All residents are also asked to download and install the Al Hosn mobile app to easily show test results and help monitor the spread of COVID-19.

Test results and documentation is not currently required when leaving the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
