All the UFC Fight Island bouts we know about in Abu Dhabi

Ready for the return of MMA in the UAE capital?

In December, UFC president Dana White confirmed that the UFC would return to Abu Dhabi for three events for the third edition of Fight Island.

And not only would the sport be coming back, but Fight Island would see the biggest name in the sport make his debut in the UFC.

Of course we’re talking about Conor McGregor.

This month, the UFC will host a triple header on Fight Island with two UFC Fight Nights on Sunday January 17 and Wednesday January 20 and UFC 257 on Sunday January 24.

So what fights do we know about so far?

On the first Fight Night, on Sunday January 17, an exciting featherweight main event will see Max Holloway face Calvin Kattar.

Then, on Wednesday January 20 UFC Fight Night will see Michael Chiesa face Neil Magny in a welterweight bout.

UFC 257 on Sunday January 24 will be the main event that gains the most attention from around the world.

The main event sees Conor McGregor return to the Octagon after a year away from the sport to face Dustin Poirier again, as each of them sets their sights on the lightweight title.

Further down the bill another lightweight bout should prove an interesting fight as Michael Chandler makes his UFC debut against Dan Hooker, who in his last outing lost to Dustin Poirier.

In the strawweight division, an exciting fight between Marina Rodriguez will face Amanda Ribas on the main card.

It’s going to be a big month for UFC in Abu Dhabi.
