Take a family picnic in the park at Louvre Abu Dhabi

There will be picnic boxes, soft serve stations, live entertainment and more

Looking for the ultimate family-friendly activity in Abu Dhabi this month? Louvre Abu Dhabi is hosting a picnic in the park on Saturday January 15 and it looks like buckets of fun.

If you’re anything like us, you’ll love the views and architecture at Louvre Abu Dhabi almost as much as you love the art inside. The picnic in the park will feature picnic boxes that you can pre-order from Aptitude Café or Nectar, so there’s no need to pack your own basket.

There will also be soft-serve stations, brownie pop-ups, retail, live entertainment and music, and activities for the kids. The picnic runs all evening from 4pm to 10pm, and is the perfect way to catch the gorgeous weather we’ve been having lately. Kids can also try the ‘make and play’ activities, and experiment with painting on an artist’s easel. Kids under the age of seven get in for free.

Order your picnic box for four from Aptitude Café or Nectar. Picnic boxes are limited and must be pre-ordered. They cost Dhs200 for museum members and Dhs230 for non-members. The picnic box includes four picnic day passes, a box for four and hot chocolate vouchers. You can also buy a picnic day pass, which is Dhs20 per adult member and Dhs30 for non-members, and enjoy access to the park.

Food and drinks from outside aren’t allowed in the museum and park premises. Anyone over the age of 16 will need a 48 hour negative PCR test and green status on the Al Hosn app to attend.

The Aptitude picnic box includes turkey and cheese sandwiches; a selection of cold cuts, crackers, cheese, nuts and olives; slow roasted tomato and labneh dip; strawberries, grapes, figs and dried apricot; country bread with jam and honey; and Mirzam brownies with hot chocolate vouchers.

The Nectar picnic box includes chicken Caesar wraps, quinoa falafel wraps, mini chocolate chip banana bread muffins, mini almond flour blueberry muffins with almond crumble, dates and almond butter, mini chocolate chip cookies, healthy fruit roll-ups and wellness shots with orange, lemon, and apple cider vinegar.
