Versailles and the World on now at Louvre Abu Dhabi

Versailles and the World is the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first international exhibition of 2022. Ready to see some cool history? Oui.

The exhibition will be on from Wednesday January 26 to Saturday June 4. It tells the story of Versailles and the French royal court. The exhibition is being presented in partnership with Musée National des Châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon.

Find out how global cultures and aesthetics ended up at Versailles as it transformed into a diplomatic hub, receiving foreign dignitaries from around the world. The Louvre’s Versailles and the World exhibition will showcase objects from across the globe, from Chinese and Japanese lacquerware to wallpapers and porcelain.

Can’t get to Versailles? The new exhibition is bringing parts of it to Abu Dhabi, and plenty of history.

The Versailles and the World exhibition is included as part of a general admission ticket. The general ticket gives you access to all of the galleries, exhibitions, outdoor plazas, boutique, café, and Fouquet’s Abu Dhabi. General admission is Dhs63 with discounted rates for students and selected groups.

There are also 59 new loans and 56 new acquisitions on view at Louvre Abu Dhabi’s galleries. The Art Lounge is open again with drinks and light bites to be had with a view of the Abu Dhabi skyline. LATES have started again, too, allowing visitors to explore underneath the dome for free from 6.30pm-9pm.
