The National Aquarium launches new programme for kids

The Junior Marine Biologist programme offers hand-on activities and feedings

The National Aquarium in Abu Dhabi is launching a new Junior Marine Biologist programme for kids. Do the kids love The National Aquarium in Al Qana? Could there a future biologist in your family? This hands-on experience could be the after-school programme for them.

The hands-on educational programme helps kids step into the shoes of a marine biologist by experiencing what it’s like to care for 300 species and over 46,000 animals at the largest aquarium in the Middle East. The Junior Marine Biologist programme is geared for kids aged 5 to 15 years old.

During the experience, children will explore the aquarium, learn about all of the incredible animals, assist with feedings and even get the chance to care for rescued sea turtles. This sounds like a fantastic opportunity for kids who might want a career in marine biology.

The programme costs Dhs350 per child and it also includes a three-hour behind-the-scenes tour and activities. It’s available for bookings from Monday to Thursday between 4pm and 7pm and on Fridays from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

Junior marine biologists must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the activity and must be dressed in long pants and closed shoes, to ensure their safety.
