Throughout her 70-year reign, Queen Elizabeth visited the UAE twice, in 1979 and 2010. The UAE Presidential Court expressed its condolences to King Charles III, the Royal Family and the British people. They also instructed a three-day mourning period that lasted from Friday September 9 to Monday September 12, where flags throughout the country were flown at half-mast as a sign of respect.
