Children aged five to 11 are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in the UAE.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) is making Pfizer vaccine bookings for kids aged five and older available in the United Arab Emirates.
In November 2021, the Ministry of Health approved emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine for kids aged five to 11. The approved usage was based on results of clinical studies that showed the vaccine was considered “safe” and showed a “strong” immune response for children in the age bracket.
As of February 2022, Pfizer vaccine bookings for kids are rolling in the United Arab Emirates. The Pfizer vaccine will be available across the UAE for children five to 11 years old.
Parents are able to book Pfizer vaccines for children in the age group on the Dubai Health Authority app from Tuesday February 1.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines will be administered in two doses, taken 21 days part.
The Sinopharm vaccine will still be available for children aged three to 12 years old. It is also administered with two injections, 21 days apart.
