Why Khor Al Maqta is the perfect place for a great iftar

There’s loads to love about Khor Al Maqta, with luxury hotels, great restaurants, Souk Qaryat Al Beri and amazing views over Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. 

With the new development Al Qana set to open soon there will be even more reasons to visit the area between the bridges. 

So, if you’re looking for somewhere special to enjoy an iftar during Ramadan this year, here are some great options that you want to know about. 

Abu Mousa Restaurant
Enjoy a traditional iftar experience at The Armed Forces and Officers Club and Hotel where guests can try some seasonal favourites, Middle Eastern dishes cooked at live cooking stations and some Arabic sweets.

Afya Restaurant
The Inviting international restaurant will offer a daily iftar that’s packed with a range of popular Middle Eastern dishes specially prepared by Arabic chefs.

Al Andalus Tent
The Fairmont Bab Al Bahr’s tent is always one of the most stunning in the capital This year it holds more than 500 people. There’s a buffet offering that includes a huge array of Middle Eastern dishes, water, juices and Ramadan drinks.

Giornotte
There’s plenty to suit all ages at this family-friendly feast. Featuring favourites from across the region, plus the most refreshing Ramadan beverages, it’s the perfect place to gather. The live stations add an extra element of excitement too.

La Brasserie
Enjoy a French-inspired iftar feast with fresh and tasty plates such as Niçoise salad, grilled honey-glazed chicken, roasted beef short ribs and sticky toffee date pudding. The views over the Grand Canal make the three-course dinner even better still.

Li Jiang
Take in the picturesque view of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque from Li Jiang and break with tradition to enjoy an iftar of Asian delicacies, dishes and specialties including ginger lotus sea bass and green curry.

Sofra BLD
This iftar has a real authentic feel, with stand-out dishes like slow-roasted camel meat, grilled goat and Gulf prawns. Meanwhile, the dessert table includes an actual tower of baklava, homemade ice cream and more.

Todd English’s Olives
Enjoy three courses of Mediterranean delights whilst relaxing in the homey bar area, or outside by the pretty Grand Canal. Either way it’s a fantastic way of breaking your fast.
