Jutting over the water of the Gulf, Finz boasts serious yacht club vibes.
It reopened after a makeover back in March 2021, and with a fresh new look comes new menu items and a youthful vibe.
On entry the super interiors are nautical glam – with plenty of natural light, big windows, open space and pristine white furniture. Wooden floors add to the yachty vibe, while the outdoor deck is a prime spot during the Abu Dhabi winter. Indoors or out you’ll have stellar views of the capital’s skyline though.
Drag your eyes back inside and you’ll be distracted by an open kitchen and market counter-style display of fresh fish (hello, gloriously flaky and tasty red snapper).
In case the name didn’t give it away, Finz is all about the seafood. So throw down your anchor and get stuck in to the likes of grilled baby calamari, king crab rolls and raw wasabi sea bass for starters. Like your pescatarian dishes with a punch? Opt for the salmon roll, accompanied by spicy mayo and jalapeño for a real kick-start to proceedings.
The highlights of the mains go to the roasted shrimps with zesty garlic-thyme aioli and crunchy sourdough, seafood biryani, jam-packed with fresh fish and a massively moreish moules marinière. Of course there’s black cod, and here it comes crusted in macadamia-butter served with salsa verde orzo for a righteous riff on a classic.
If you’re sharing the whole sea bass, filleted tableside is an impressive addition to your date night.
Not a fan of, well, fins? Dig into sticky-glazed duck and Angus beef fillet instead to satisfy any carnivorous cravings.
