Leen’s Casual to Gourmet

Restaurant review: A pleasant all-day venues at WTC Abu Dhabi

Leen’s Casual to Gourmet

Leen’s is truly a venue for our times. The menu is on an iPad, the pictures of the food all look fantastic, the menu covers the full gamut of hipster dishes – from poke to avo on toast, acai bowls, matcha tea and more. But, can we get an actual person’s attention to order our food? Not for about ten minutes.

The venue, at WTC Abu Dhabi (that’s the mall at World Trade Center to you and us), is really very nice, and when we do manage to speak to staff they’re all super-friendly. The food is good, too.

We’re here midweek for a late breakfast and it’s fairly quiet. There’s a lot of choice and we’re always happy to find somewhere that serves brekfast a little later in the day.

There are lots of options, including plenty for vegans and vegetarians (and we presume gluten-intolerant, flexitarians and keto followers, too). We plump for a classic avo and poached eggs on toast and a Mexican-style bowl of beans, poached eggs, tomatoes beef bacon and cheese.

The former is good, without bringing anything new to the breakfast table, the other dish is excellent, however. Satisfying, fortifying and tasty, it’s a perfect winter dish but also a great way to set you up for the day ahead.

Leen’s has a lot going for it, but it has stiff competition in the capital.
