It can be easy to become a bit bored with Levantine cuisine due to the plethora of options in this city. On nearly every street you can find your fix of falafel, hummus, tabbouleh and all the rest.
So, it takes something a bit special to really impress us when we’re filling our stomachs with Lebanese food.
Li Beirut certainly is special, with an elegant dining room and a pretty outdoor terrace. We take our seats outside, overlooking the resort’s pool as the stars shine overhead. We’re not sure what it is about eating al fresco we love so much but instantly we’re relaxed and ready to enjoy a filling feast.
We order a number of dishes for the table so we can all share and steal bits and pieces as we go. The falafel are perfectly crisp and taste brilliant dunked unapologetically into the wonderfully creamy hummus and smoky moutabal. Meanwhile, the fattoush has the perfect bite from the vinaigrette, and the salad marries perfectly with the salty punch from the grilled halloumi.
Of course, we tear apart multiple baskets of freshly baked bread, dipping them in everything going.
If you want to fall in love with Levantine food all over again, head to Li Beirut. It is that simple.
