Beach House

A chilled beachside restaurant on Saadiyat Island

If you’re looking to impress, Beach House is the place. Whether it’s a family celebration, bringing relatives from abroad or a romantic date, the beachside spot will leave everyone (including returning diners) gushing about the view, and likely the food, too.

As the name alludes, Beach House is right on Saadiyat Beach, part of the glam Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi. Walk from the hotel, beyond the beautiful pool and lounges down the path lit with pyramid flames and lanterns, then get comfortable in one of the table seats or sofas. (There is no bad seat or view here.)

You can feel the Gulf breeze at the cool outdoor spot, but you’re not sitting with your feet in sand and you don’t have to be concerned about high tide. Add in a DJ playing lounge beats and a chill vibe, and this is a place to watch the sun set or stay until the small hours. Beach House closes at midnight or 1am, depending on the day of the week.

Beach House

In the spirit of another body of water, Beach House has a Mediterranean menu that leans towards Spanish and Italian with modern and Middle Eastern twists. It’s divided into categories such as eat with your hands, from the grill, things to share and specials for two (remember what we said about this being a romantic spot).

Come hungry and get into dishes including handmade truffle linguine with burrata, dirty mellow rice (a saucier cousin of paella) and the sea bass baked in rock salt. And no order is really complete without a side of the black truffle and Parmesan fries.

With the vibe and some of the dishes more dedicated to developed palates (crudo, caviar) you might think about leaving kids at home, but Beach House doesn’t exclude younger visitors. There is a dedicated kids menu, which is suited for families staying at the hotel as well as resident broods after a meal with a view.

Whether you’re a pair, a family, a large group or flying solo, you won’t feel out of place. There is a mix of everyone on our visit on a busy night.

If you’re lucky, you might see a gazelle or two run by. This is Saadiyat Island after all.
