Plans revealed for World Rallycross Abu Dhabi 2019

Yas Marina Circuit hosts a three-day festival featuring adrenaline-fuelled racing, music and entertainment

We’re no strangers to huge, exciting sporting events here in the capital, but the details of the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship have got us wishing that it was April already.

Taking place at Yas Marina Circuit from April 4 to 6, organisations have just revealed the full schedule for the action-packed weekend, and it’s set to feature loads off on and off-track entertainment which will appeal to all ages.

The main event is of course the Rallycross racing, starring some of the best drivers in the world competing against each other in powerful and highly modified sports cars. Spectators should expect tight turns, high speeds and lots of thrills.

Rallycross fans will also love the brand-new purpose built 1.2km track, plus the pit lane walk, KartZone challenges, driver meet-and-greet and autograph sessions, and various other racing-themed experiences.

Or, if you’re yet to be convinced by the joys of Rallycross (you will be, don’t worry), you’ll be pleased to know that there’s plenty going on away from the fast cars too.

As well as family-friendly activities and an Adrenaline Zone (for all the thrill seekers), festival goers will be able to sample delights from the many food trucks in the Food Festival area.

Music fans will also be in their element. As well as performances from local musicians and entertainers, ticket holders also get to access to the Friday after-race concert (headliners are yet to be revealed).

This is the first time that the UAE has hosted the FIA World Rallycross Championship and we can’t wait to see what it’s all about.

Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit, can’t wait to bring the event to Yas Island. “Our new track and weekend-long itinerary, offering some of the wildest racing the Middle East has ever seen, promises to deliver something completely different to anything we have ever seen at the Circuit,” he says.

“With something for every member of the family, the weekend promises to be another must-do weekend packed with a host of entertainment.”

Weekend tickets start at Dhs395 for North Grandstand general admission, Dhs595 for the North Club Lounge and Dhs1,495 for Yas Central Hospitality.

Or if you want to make it a whole weekend of activities on Yas Island, you can also purchase an X-Parks Pass. This ticket not only gets you access to all the action at Marina Circuit, but also unlimited access to either Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Water World, or Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi throughout the championship.
