Ready for a laugh? We certainly are – and if you’re in the same boat then sit tight, as one of the top names on the world comedy circuit is coming to the UAE.
Comedian Russell Peters is heading to Abu Dhabi this September to perform at the newly opened Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
The show will take place on Friday September 17, put on by GME Events in conjunction with The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Yas Island.
Tickets are on sale now, starting at Dhs195 – and can be bought in groups of two, three or four, and safety measures will be in place.
“I haven’t been to Abu Dhabi since 2013 and this show will be my first international date since COVID. So I’m excited on so many levels and can’t wait to be back,” said Peters.
Peters was last in the UAE in 2019, when he performed to a packed crowd at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena. He was the first person to play at the massive arena in City Walk, and was a total hit (read our review here).
If you haven’t had the chance to see Peters live yet, you’ll know him from his Netflix shows including Almost Famous and Notorious.
Known for his keen observations on race and culture, Peters was recently named as one of Rolling Stone’s 50 best comics of all time.
He started doing stand-up aged 19 in Canada and has since packed out stadiums and arenas including Madison Square Garden, The Sydney Opera House and London’s O2 Arena.
Peters recently launched his own Podcast, “Culturally Cancelled” and is currently developing a number of TV series as well as appearing in Clifford The Big Red Dog from Paramount Pictures later this year, so watch this space.
