Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways releases guidelines for residents returning to the UAE

Here’s what you need to know before travelling

UAE residents who live in Abu Dhabi are being welcomed back to the country from overseas.

Residents stranded outside no longer need to apply for government approval before flying back into the country.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has updated the requirements for entry to the country.

Etihad Airways is flying to Abu Dhabi daily from destinations across the world.

Before booking the airline has advised passengers to visit the ICA website and register their details including Emirates ID and Visa details, before departing.

Residents will receive instant approval with a valid visa and will be able to travel to the UAE capital.

A negative COVID-19 test from a government approved testing facility is also required.

Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi all passengers will be required to undergo a COVID-19 test and undergo self-isolation for two weeks.

A negative COVID-19 test is required for all passengers leaving the UAE with Etihad Airways from August 16.
