Looking to travel to Jordan? The country is set to abandon all remaining COVID-19 restrictions, apart from vaccination requirements in the next few weeks.
PCR tests will no longer be required to enter the country, officials said. Additionally, limits on gatherings will be lifted as part of the plan. The easing of the restrictions is part of Jordan’s plan to boost tourism again.
The easing of restrictions is meant to take place soon.
Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh said: “The government is on course to declare in the next few weeks the end of measures regarding the coronavirus pandemic and a transition to habitation with the pandemic and its different variants. By then we will be in a safe phase in the confrontation with the pandemic.”

The Jordan government’s Pandemic Committee recommended to authorities that PCR-testing should be scrapped to encourage tourists back to the country. Saeed Jaradat, of the Pandemic Committee said, “It will be the start of a total transformation in the way we deal with the coronavirus.”
The green pass proving vaccination would still be required to enter businesses and government departments in Jordan.
PCR testing was reintroduced in Jordan in November 2021 as the country entered what officials described as the third wave of the pandemic.
Jordan is home to some of the world’s most astonishing and most visited tourism sites in the world, including the ancient city of Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Aqaba, and the Amman Citadel.
