Brand-new overnight desert experience The Nest to launch

This sounds like it will be the ultimate stargazing getaway

Nara Desert Escapes, the award-winning team behind the world-famous Sonara Camp, is set to launch a brand-new camping experience named The Nest.

A luxe desert glamping experience under the starry sky? We expect this will be on many a bucket list with The Nest by Sonara.

As announced at the Arabian Travel Market, The Nest is being billed as an exclusive, unique and eco-friendly overnight experience.

Imagined and designed by architect Gianni Ranaulo, guests will stay in private ‘nests’ and they don’t sound shabby at all.

Each ‘nest’ is set to be complete with a dreamy bedroom area, private en-suite bathroom, outdoor majlis and your own dedicated mudeef, who will ensure you have the most memorable experience possible.

Doesn’t sound like this going to be like the camping trips we remember going on as kids. No, this experience will take glamping to the next level, complete with luxurious accommodation and gourmet dining.

The 14 Sonara desert nests are to blend organically into the Arabian Desert, sitting peacefully nestled amongst the dunes of the surrounding Dubai Conservation Reserve.

Guests will be checked in with a welcome drink and snacks, before being invited to graze on the curated tapas menu from chef Franck Sanna, all the while sipping on their pick from the free mini-bar.

Expect servings of Syrian olives, pickles and tapenade with pastries and plates of culinary delights made from the freshest locally sourced produce and seafood.

The Nest: camp

Other than enjoying the gastronomical journey, guests also have the option to spend the evening at neighbouring Sonara Camp to enjoy sunset and dinner via the dedicated sand shuttle.

Will you be wanting to hunker down in one of the nests? The Nest by Sonara is slated to open in September 2022.

Stay tuned to Time Out for updates.

Opens Sept 2022. Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, Al Ain Road, nara.ae (050 336 7909).
