The UAE’s new logo has been decided

The winner was one of three options designed by Emiratis

The UAE has chosen its new logo.

The country’s residents and people around the world were asked to vote on three designs at the end of 2019.

For every vote cast, the UAE pledged to plant a tree – with the aim of planting millions across the world. In the end, there were 10 million votes – more than the population of the country.

The designs were created by 49 Emirati artists from across the seven emirates.

The winning logo, called 7 Lines, is based on the colours of the UAE flag and the shape of the country.

It was unveiled by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid tweeted: “Today, my brother Mohammed bin Zayed and 49 Emirati creators launched the new visual media identity for the UAE, an identity that represents our map, our escalated ambitions, the seven emirates that are racing the world and seven founders who immortalised themselves in our history.”
