Iconic sunsets, sea breezes, and tropical vibes that are just a stone’s throw from downtown Abu Dhabi? We must be talking about West Bay Lounge.
After a recent revamp, our interest was piqued to head to this snazzy spot to see whether the vibes have changed, too.
There’s now a glass exterior to keep the lounge area cool (much needed in the summer) a deck overlooking the Abu Dhabi Corniche shoreline (for those all-important sunset selfies), and an enhanced menu of drinks and food to choose from (don’t mind if we do).
While the venue has had a bit of a make-over, the main draws remain the same: this is the perfect spot to catch some rays on the Corniche during the day that turns into a boho-chic nightlife destination once the sky goes a brilliant orange.
Head to West Bay Lounge in the early evening and you’ll be just in time to catch that stunning Abu Dhabi sunset. Outside there are hammocks, swings, and sun loungers, but if you’re here for a drink we’d recommend settling into one of the ultra-comfy couches inside.
With loads of seating options, wicker chandeliers, breezy curtains and plenty of plants, the whole place has a charming, breezy vibe that makes you feel like you’re on vacation, even if you’ve just walked down the road from the office.
The drinks menu is wide-ranging, and covers a wide variety of tastes. It’s a little steeper than some places, with mixed drinks coming in between Dhs65 and Dhs85, and most grape only being sold by the bottle. A bottle of hops will set you back Dhs42. You pay for the atmosphere here, but we’d say it’s definitely worth it.
This spot is worth checking out, especially since it’s been revamped, buffed, and shined for the winter season. That sunset view in a chair like a cloud is worth every dirham.
